Reply with quote | #1 | Magnolia is very, very ill. She's in ICU on dialysis and her blood pressure is 70/40. Sometime after her breast reconstruction, she contacted MRSA but it went directly into her bloodstream so it has really done a number on her. She's in and out of consciousness.
Jerry said he will keep me updated but please pray for her. I know if one of us was ill, she'd be the first on her knees in prayer. If you don't pray, please send positive, healing thoughts her way.
Thanks. __________________ If it doesn't feel good, don't do it twice |

Jerry called last night and her kidneys are slowly starting to function on their own, a good sign, but she's not out of danger yet. I'll keep you gals posted. __________________ If it doesn't feel good, don't do it twice |

She's still struggling. She's been incubated for a long time and that alone does a number on your body. Hoping to get her off dialysis soon. She's a trooper! __________________ If it doesn't feel good, don't do it twice |

Reply with quote | #7 | I actually spoke with Magnolia today. Truthfully, she sounds terrible, nothing like herself but at least she's alive. Her temp was 106 degrees so they put her into an induced coma for 13 days. She said she had been having hallucinations before they finally got her temp down and it's been a really rough time for her. She's coming along but it sounds like she's got an uphill battle ahead of her. She thanked all of you for the prayers and thoughts and said they were the only reason she was still alive. __________________ If it doesn't feel good, don't do it twice |

Reply with quote | #8 | Actually got to speak with Magnolia today. She doesn't sound so great but she's gonna kick ass as soon as she can. She was on kidney dialysis so had some "free" time. It seems she was infected with MRSA and it caused Toxic Shock Syndrome. Can you say Holy Crap? She's been one sick cookie but speaks of deep gratitude for her life and the many people who have been praying for her. The only word she could think of was "humble." She was able to log on last night but not able to form any words to thank you gals for your thoughts and prayers. They did an MRI to check for brain damage due to high fever and luckily, there was none but she's having difficulty forming words, speaking or writing. Time will heal and we'll have our girl back. Being in an induced coma for 13-days has caused problems of it's own. She's got a journey ahead of her. __________________ If it doesn't feel good, don't do it twice |

Reply with quote | #13 | I am now out of the hospital after spending 27 days there, 19 days of which I was unconscious. I am still very weak. I have out patient dialysis every Mon., Wed.,and Fri. 4 hours each time. We are still hoping it will be temporary and that my kidneys will kick in and start working again. I am not able to do much of anything for myself. My home health worker is working on getting me a power wheelchair but that could take up to a month to get insurance approval. Once I get the power wheel chair and a ramp built at my house so that I can have access, than I will be able to go home to my own place. Until that time Jerry and I are staying with my youngest son and his family. I want to say a heart felt thank you to all of you girls on this site for all the prayers and best wishes. I know that God heard all the prayers sent up to spare my life. Some people don't live through this but God heard all your prayers. I can not thank you enough. Now I will keep you in my prayers. I have a long road to travel to recovery but once I,m strong again I will start coming to the site more often and hope I can catch some of you on here so that I can thank you and we can get this site rockin again. I'm exhausted so I'll close for now. Love and hugs, Magnolia |

Reply with quote | #14 | Ah--Bisou, Bisou (kiss, kiss), I'm so happy you're finally out of the hospital! Don't you just hate those places? I know, we hate them until we need them, just like lawyers. I can see you zipping around in a motorized wheel chair. Probably more dangerous for the people that get in your way than for yourself...ha! I'll call you this week. We leave Friday morning for Ohio and I'll be gone one week but can still be reached by e-mail or my cell phone. Love you bunches, Di __________________ If it doesn't feel good don't do it twice |
